Services Provided

Summitview Child & Family Services is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a wide variety of mental health services for children and families that includes the following: Outpatient/TBS/Wraparound Services, Residential Treatment, Medi-Cal Day Rehabilitation, and Nonpublic Special Education.

Outpatient/TBS/Wraparound Services. Outpatient counseling and other specialized mental health services are provided to boys and girls living at home or in foster homes who may be struggling with a variety of interpersonal or behavioral issues. Wraparound and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) are designed to help stabilize children who may be at risk for out of home placement.

Residential Treatment. Twenty-four hour care and supervision are provided in one of three licensed, six-bed group homes for girls. The group home program has a Rate Classification Level (RCL) of 14, the most intensive offered in California. Each house is fully staffed with experienced counselors/child care workers, with an adult to client ratio of 1:2 during most peak awake hours. A variety of structured therapeutic and recreational activities are provided, and each client is provided with a staff clinician for individual therapy, family therapy, and case management.

Medi-Cal Day Rehabilitation. Over four hours of mental health treatment are provided to clients receiving this service Monday through Friday. Psychological and psychiatric services are provided as well.

   DBT Skills Training
   Art Therapy
   Anger Management
   Social Skills Training
   Meditation/Stress Management/Yoga
   Recreational Activities/Daily Exercise
   Life Skills & Independent Living
   Relationship Violence Prevention
   Body Image Satisfaction
   Substance Abuse Treatment
   Sexual Abuse Treatment

Nonpublic Special Education. Summitview School is certified by the California State Department of Education to provide individualized special education services. Placement into the nonpublic school is made by the referring school district through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. The school provides a full curriculum of academics taught by fully credentialed special education teachers. A small class size of about 10 students allows for individualized attention as needed.
